Nando's: Perinaise
£1.50 Sainsbury's (265 g)
Like a bathroom visit after too much Encona,
uksaucereview is setting our kingdom alight.
My inbox has been absolutely buzzing of late
with death threats from Crucials, nudes from
Old Mother Hubbard, and, of course, fan mail
and requests. And so, my dear saucerors, it
is on our fifth post that I present the first
review of a fan requested sauce.
Unfortunately, the lucky request is for Nando's
Perinaise. Initially you might be drawn in: the
Nando's Sauce Department have had a marketing blinder
here, imaginatively portmanteauing their Peri-Peri
and Mayonnaise based sauce into 'Perinaise'. However,
as you take your first gobble of your well-endolloped
chip, it is with regret that you realise the Nando's
Sauce Department spent their entire imagination
and cheeky budget on the name, leaving nothing to
the sauce. Perinaise has incredibly little to it,
in terms of taste it's like a tomatoey wall filler
and it's claim to be hot is a complete lie - Old
Mother Hubbard's nudes have more spice. The only
commendation I can give this sauce is it structurally
sound and it holds its shape well. Just as all
good wall fillers should do.
Verdict: Cheeky Nan-Don't get this
